With results upon us, I would love to leave you gals with my final fashion advice on swimwear, what’s trending, what’s hot and what's raising the temperature. So before you go off into the sales trying to find every bikini top or one piece you can find, let me enlighten you on which way your holiday wardrobe should swing.
Jungle Fever
It looks like this Summer the fashion world can not get enough of the animal prints and tropicalness of the jungle. If you are jetting off to a tropical island or beach, leopard and snakeskin are making headlines yet again (look at my blog on Summer Trends to get the full deets ). The leafy palm trees have also made their way onto print. If you go with this pattern, make sure the swimsuit or bikini is vibrant to really go for the exotic feel so they stand out in the vast insta pictures. Mix it up with an ombre look to show that you’re making the temperature rise.

Cut outs, Straps & Strings and Bows (knots)
It is all about the small details that makes swimwear. We first head towards cut outs which give swimwear that sexy look. Go for cut outs which are positioned around the midriff or sides, especially with one-pieces because it makes them look even more youthful and really gives off a curvaceous vibe.

Straps and Strings give the ultimate classic fashionable look. It is such a widely used design and gives one pieces a bikini aura. It also complements bikinis as it gives a bit more material to flow about and produce a somewhat hypnotising zig zag pattern across the body compared to the standard string bikini. It follows on from the zig zag lace-up design that conquered the fashion runway and high street stores last season. With this look, all eyes will be on you and YOU only, so wear straps and strings with a high head and a plate of confidence because anyone can rock this look and be daring.
Bows and knots…is there really much to say? Bows are the epitome of giving an outfit that vintage look. Bows have been around since the 1880s and knots, well, that trend has been flourishing since the 90s. Instantly this embellishment gives a sweet and cute look to your outfit, however, ever since Rosie the Riveter it has also given a sense of female empowerment and strong character, showing you are a free spirit but also mean business. Who knew bows and tied knots could be so deep?

Belts, Buckles & Clips
Get ready for this one…but belted and buckled straps/clips have made their way onto swimwear. For these have been lying dormant on the life jacket for quite sometime now. But all jokes aside, I could never have thought that these safety measures would land on a stunning 6ft tall model and be making fashion headlines. I stand corrected. I see from my research (*scrolling endlessly through the swimwear section of brands*), that this design is actually quite practical and even flattering. The tightness of the belts and buckles makes sure that there is no excess material and the swimsuit fits perfectly to your waist, it can even act as a push-up bra. I would either aim for a copper, gold or silver metal belt/buckle, just because it will sparkle and reflect off the sun and be sure to catch some attention. If you are going with the lifeguard buckle/clip, try to stay clear less or black (to give an eye catching feature but in a very subtle way).

High Rise and High wastedddd
High rise bottoms have certainly become a trend because of the positioning of the bottoms around the hip, giving a fuller and rounder figure. High rise normally have a V-shaped band and is perfect if you want to show off those Summer ready abs. But also, high waisted bottoms are still flooding into the swimwear department. This is definitely a Marylin Monroe 1950s style which is extremely fashionable and in fashion. This style extenuates your curves and even has the added benefit of covering any food babies that may come from the post exam binge you may be following. For this look I would stay away from whites because of the high possibility of it looking like a giant white nappy (Yes I made this mistake) but instead go for blacks, neons and any of the colours of the rainbow. I suggest maybe even trying out some stripes or polka dots if you don’t want to go for a bold colour and want to go for a cute sailor look.

That is it for now ladies, I hope you have enjoyed reading my fashion blogs and they have hopefully made you smile or at least laughed a couple of times and released the inner fashion diva in all of you! But sadly I shall move onto the real world and face whatever life has to offer. So, I hope results have gone well but now go relax, do some retail therapy, take my fashion advice, jet off to a lovely beach and relax your problems away. And remember to all the freshers who have just started university and to all the final years out there moving into this thing called ‘adulthood’, ‘You know what you gotta do when life gets you down? Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming swimming swimming’ (Dory, 2003). Yep my degree finally came in handy.
